WNU WEAR: THE TOP SS23 SHIRT TRENDS FROM FASHION MONTH

Fashion world approved shirts that you can style too.

Across all the fashion capitals debuting their Spring 2023 collections over September, there was one runway stalwart that we couldn’t help but notice: the return of the shirt. Utilitarian, reliable, effortless, this garment is a trusted piece in any designer's collection, so you can trust that it should be a staple in your wardrobe.

It is not always easy to navigate the fashion world; like when you are trying to find shirt styling inspo to avoid groundhog day dressing but all you can find on social media is a very impressive but impractical spray on dress. So we have done the hard bit for you, and below, have pulled together a curation of all the new seasons shirting moments.

Welcome to your front row seat to this season's hottest shirt trends.

The Oversized White shirt

From L-R: Dior, Peter Do, Dries van Noten  (c/o Vogue Catwalk)

A seasonless classic, you just can’t go wrong with an oversized white shirt. Thankfully we make quite a few of them.

The Higher the Hemline

From L-R: Etro, Philosophy di Lorenzo Seraphini, Etro (c/o Vogue Catwalk)

We know what we will be wearing this party season! If you’re not into skirts as much, opt for a matching short and shirt combo instead.

Denim On Denim

From L-Bally, Burberry
(c/o Vogue Catwalk)

Denim had a big moment (I’ll be sure to sneak this onto the production mood boards later), but you can also easily create a faux canadian tuxedo by pairing a blue shirt with a similar shade blue jean.

Sweet like Candy

From L-R: Max Mara, Baum und Pferdgarten, Dries Van Noten
(c/o Vogue Catwalk)

Candy coloured outfits - just heavenly! This trend is all about soft hues made cool with monochromatic styling. Use your shirt as a base and build from there.

Working hard or hardly working? All images have been sourced from Vogue runway, which I have been trawling everyday for a month whilst my boss couldn’t see my screen.
